Oppose Arctic Drilling as a Narrowminded Solution

In the wake of Katrina, there have been increased calls for drilling for more oil (presumably in Alaska but perhaps also elsewhere). Instead of looking to destroy more of the precious resources on the planet, why not use the technology that we already have? We have effective hybrid cars, solar power, wind power, and so many other alternatives. Certainly, we can increase production and sales of all of these things as fast as we could produce oil from arctic drilling.
